Terms & Conditions

Effective Date: July 29, 2025
Last Updated: July 29, 2026

Welcome to the AFS Construction + Handyman website. These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of this website, including any forms, service-request features, content, photographs, links, and other materials available through the website.

By accessing or using this website, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the website.

1. About AFS Construction + Handyman

AFS Construction + Handyman, referred to in these Terms as “AFS,” “we,” “us,” or “our,” provides construction, repair, maintenance, handyman, and property-care services.

Information presented on this website is intended to introduce our company, explain our general services, display examples of prior work, and allow potential and existing clients to contact us.

2. Website Information Is Not a Project Contract

The information on this website does not constitute a construction contract, binding estimate, guaranteed price, promise of availability, or commitment to perform work.

Submitting a contact form, requesting service, sending photographs, scheduling an evaluation, or communicating with AFS through this website does not automatically create a contractor-client relationship.

A project becomes authorized only when AFS has provided the applicable written estimate, proposal, work authorization, service agreement, or contract; the client has accepted the applicable terms; and any required deposit or initial payment has been received.

3. Estimates, Pricing, and Scope of Work

Prices, service descriptions, promotional offers, membership information, response-time targets, and other information displayed on the website are general information unless specifically incorporated into a written agreement issued by AFS.

Final pricing may depend on factors including:

  • Site conditions

  • Project scope

  • Material selections and availability

  • Required permits or inspections

  • Accessibility and working conditions

  • Client-requested changes

  • Concealed or previously unknown conditions

  • Travel, parking, disposal, equipment, or specialty-service requirements

The written estimate, proposal, contract, change order, or service agreement issued for a particular project will control if it differs from information displayed on this website.

4. Deposits and Scheduling

A requested appointment, project date, or service window is not reserved until confirmed by AFS.

When a deposit is required, the deposit confirms the client’s acceptance of the applicable estimate or agreement and reserves AFS labor, scheduling capacity, administrative time, and other resources for the project.

Failure to submit a required deposit may result in the requested appointment or project dates remaining available to other clients.

Deposit, cancellation, rescheduling, and refund terms will be governed by the applicable written estimate, contract, service agreement, invoice, or refund policy.

5. Service Requests and Availability

AFS may accept, decline, reschedule, or request additional information regarding any service request.

Submitting a request does not guarantee:

  • That the requested service is within AFS’s scope

  • Immediate or emergency availability

  • A specific completion date

  • That work can be performed without an on-site evaluation

  • That preliminary advice or observations will resolve the reported issue

AFS is not an emergency-response provider unless emergency service has been expressly confirmed in writing.

For conditions involving immediate danger, active fire, suspected gas leaks, major electrical hazards, flooding, structural collapse, or threats to health and safety, contact the appropriate emergency service, utility provider, or public authority.

6. Client Responsibilities

Clients are responsible for providing accurate and complete information regarding the property, project, known damage, prior repairs, site access, occupants, pets, utilities, parking restrictions, building requirements, and any conditions that could affect the work.

Clients must have the legal authority to request work at the property or have permission from the property owner or authorized representative.

Additional costs, delays, or changes caused by inaccurate information, restricted access, undisclosed conditions, unsafe working conditions, or changes to the requested scope may require a revised estimate or written change order.

7. Photographs, Measurements, and Project Examples

Photographs, drawings, renderings, dimensions, descriptions, and project examples displayed on this website are provided for general illustration.

Every property and project is different. Previous results do not guarantee identical pricing, appearance, timing, materials, or results for another project.

Any preliminary evaluation based on photographs, videos, measurements, or written descriptions submitted remotely may be revised after an on-site inspection or after concealed conditions are discovered.

Photographs or information submitted through a service-request form may be used by AFS to evaluate, estimate, schedule, document, and perform the requested services. AFS will not intentionally publish client-submitted project photographs for advertising without permission or another lawful basis.

8. Communications

When you submit a form, request an estimate, schedule service, or otherwise contact AFS, you authorize AFS to respond regarding your request by email, telephone, or text message using the contact information you provide.

Submitting a service request does not automatically enroll you in promotional marketing unless you separately request, authorize, or subscribe to such communications.

You may unsubscribe from marketing emails using the unsubscribe option included in the message. Transactional communications concerning estimates, contracts, payments, appointments, active projects, warranties, or requested services may still be sent when reasonably necessary.

9. Payments and Third-Party Services

AFS may use third-party platforms to provide estimates, collect signatures, schedule appointments, process payments, manage subscriptions, deliver invoices, or communicate with clients.

Your use of a third-party service may also be governed by that provider’s terms and privacy practices. AFS is not responsible for the availability, security, processing errors, or independent conduct of third-party platforms beyond AFS’s reasonable control.

10. Website Content and Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, the website’s design, written content, branding, logos, graphics, project photographs, service descriptions, and other original materials are owned by or licensed to AFS.

You may view and print reasonable portions of the website for personal, noncommercial purposes. You may not copy, reproduce, modify, publish, sell, scrape, distribute, impersonate, or commercially use website content without prior written permission from AFS.

11. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the website for unlawful, fraudulent, or abusive purposes

  • Submit false contact information or impersonate another person

  • Attempt to access restricted systems, accounts, or website functions

  • Introduce viruses, malicious code, automated scraping tools, or disruptive technology

  • Interfere with the website’s security or operation

  • Use website content to misrepresent an affiliation with AFS

  • Submit threatening, discriminatory, defamatory, or unlawful material

AFS may restrict access, disregard submissions, or take other reasonable action when website misuse is suspected.

12. Informational Content and Safety

General maintenance information, construction information, tips, articles, photographs, or responses appearing on the website are provided for general informational purposes only.

Such information is not a substitute for an on-site evaluation by a properly qualified professional. You are responsible for determining whether work requires a licensed contractor, specialty contractor, engineer, architect, inspector, utility provider, permit, or other professional.

Do not rely exclusively on website content when property damage, personal safety, structural integrity, electricity, gas, plumbing, fire protection, hazardous materials, or code compliance may be involved.

13. Website Availability

AFS makes reasonable efforts to maintain accurate and accessible website information. However, we do not guarantee that the website will always be uninterrupted, error-free, current, secure, or available on every device or browser.

AFS may change, suspend, remove, or update website content and features without prior notice.

14. Disclaimer of Website Warranties

The website and its general content are provided on an “as available” and “as is” basis to the extent permitted by law.

AFS does not guarantee that general website information will be complete, error-free, or suitable for every property, condition, or project.

This website disclaimer does not replace or reduce any express workmanship warranty, contractual obligation, statutory right, or other responsibility contained in an applicable written project agreement or required by law.

15. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, AFS will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising solely from the use of, inability to use, or reliance on this website or its general informational content.

This limitation does not apply to obligations arising from an accepted project contract, completed construction services, an express written warranty, or rights and remedies that cannot legally be waived or limited.

16. External Links

The website may contain links to third-party websites, payment services, scheduling platforms, social-media pages, manufacturers, vendors, or other outside resources.

AFS does not control and is not responsible for the content, availability, security, accuracy, or privacy practices of those third parties. A link does not necessarily represent an endorsement or guarantee.

17. Privacy

Information submitted through the website will be handled in accordance with the AFS Privacy Policy and applicable law.

You should not submit highly sensitive personal, financial, medical, or security information through a general website contact form unless specifically requested through an appropriate secure process.

18. Governing Law

These website Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Any dispute arising specifically from the use of this website will be handled in a court with appropriate jurisdiction in Washington, unless the parties agree otherwise in writing or applicable law requires another forum.

Project-specific disputes will be governed by the dispute-resolution, governing-law, venue, or other provisions contained in the applicable estimate, contract, service agreement, or work authorization.

19. Changes to These Terms

AFS may revise these Terms and Conditions periodically to reflect changes to the website, services, business practices, or applicable requirements.

Revised terms will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the website after revised terms are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised website terms.

Changes to these website terms will not retroactively alter an existing signed project contract unless the parties agree to the change in writing.

20. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is determined to be unlawful, invalid, or unenforceable, that provision will be limited or removed only to the extent necessary. The remaining provisions will continue in effect.
